Delta Assures Border Communities Of Development

Delta State government has assured communities at the border areas of development.

Besides, it has presented the Obi of Ogodor Kingdom in Aniocha North Local Government Area, Sunday Olisenwokwu, with a staff of office.

The state's deputy governor, Professor Amos Utuama, while presenting the staff of office to the monarch of Ogodor, a border community between Delta and Edo, assured that the Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan administration would not neglect such communities.

Utuama pointed out that the Uduaghan administration, as part of its three-point agenda of peace and security, infrastructure and human capital development, has a programme aimed at bringing development to border communities in the state.

He told the agrarian Ogodor community that it was going to benefit from the various agricultural initiatives of the administration, adding that the environmental challenges of the community would also be addressed.

The deputy governor urged the monarch and his subjects to show mutual respect for each other, while reminding the latter that the respect outsiders would accord their king was dependent on that they showed to him.

Chairman of Aniocha North Local Government Area, Jaunty Okwudi, in his speech, commended the Uduaghan administration for according the traditional institution its place as a partner in grassroots development.

He urged the monarch to rule with the fear of God and prioritise the well-being of his subjects.

Besides, the community in an address read by A. I. Bidokwu, expressed appreciation to the state government for according their monarch recognition and pleaded with the government to address the developmental challenge of the area.
