Alagbado Residents Moan Over Outage

Alagbado Residents Moan Over Outage

It is no longer news that many suburbs in Lagos have been living without stable power supply for some time. However, it is more frustrating for many residents in Alagbado area of Lagos, who have been experiencing darkness for months.

For instance, some parts of U-turn, a suburb in Alagbado area, last witnessed power supply four months ago. As a result, business activities in the area have since been paralysed.

Another area is Captain Olota in Abule Taylor area of Alagbado. The area has been in darkness for the past six months. Most of the residents find it hard to contribute money to buy a new transformer, which is actually supposed to be supplied free by the Power Holding Company Nigeria.

Meiran area also in Alagbado for the past one month has been without power supply.

Agbado Crossing in Ijaiye is another area experiencing darkness. Many of the residents live like those in the rural communities. They spend heavily on kerosene for domestic use as well as petrol to power their generators. Water has also become so scarce and expensive too.

PHCN officials should conduct routine checks on the Alagbado environment to solve the problem, which has been the lot of the residents in recent times.
