Trials Of Niyola

Trials Of Niyola

With Kemi Lawal: talk@independentngonline.com

Nigerian female musicians fall into two broad categories. There are the Asas and the Niyolas. While the former are known more for hit records and international gigs, the latter thrive on radio hits and relationships with fellow artistes.

Niyola, that attractive English undergraduate of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), has been on and off romance with fellow artiste, Freestyle, and this has been a source of worry for those around her.

Some people close to her are also bothered about tales of her financial state. According to them, she is cash-strapped at the moment. It is alleged that she was heavily indebted to her landlady, which prompted her to abscond when she could not pick her bills. In case you don't know, Niyola is resident in an off campus hostel, Hall 27, situated close to UNILAG's back gate.

We called Niyola to verify the story and expectedly she denied everything
