Miss Delsu For International Pageant In U.S.

As Miss Delsu, Janet Odogwu, participates in the Miss United Nations Competition in Utah, United States of America come next week, Students of the institution have wished her luck and success in the event.

Loudvoice, a popular comedian on campus said it was his earnest prayer and desire that she goes to the event and return with the crown.

"I pray that as she goes to represent this institution and Nigeria in general at that event, that she would be highly successful and come back with the crown," he said.

Odogwu, who is a final year Theatre Arts student of Delta State University, Abraka, said she is looking forward to attending the pageant and hopes to do the nation proud by coming home with the crown.

There was a selection of pageants in April at Abuja, where other queens contested but Odogwu was crowned Miss Nigeria United Nations International 2008.

Not new to pageants, the current Miss Delsu, had participated in Theatre Arts Students' Pageant in her school and won and went on to compete in the Theatre Arts Students Nigeria, where she had to compete with other queens from other Theatre Arts Departments in other universities, and also won. She became Miss Delsu in February 2006.

"Last year, they did the first inter-university pageant, as Miss Delta, I was eligible, it was meant for school queens only and I represented Delsu and I won," she said.
