Cleric Charges Christians On Glorious Future

Cleric Charges Christians On Glorious Future

Nigerians, especially Christians, have been charged to hinge their love on Christ for a better and more glorious future.

They were also enjoined to revisit such periods of total commitment when their ultimate focus was towards God.

These were contained in a sermon delivered by the Bishop of Lagos West, Methodist Church Nigeria, Rev. Isaac Olawuyi, at a thanksgiving service marking the end of his Episcopal visit to the Diocese, held penultimate Sunday at Palm Avenue Cathedral, Mushin, Lagos recently.

Reiterating the need for every Nigerian and its well wishers to be more dedicated and dutiful to the constructive, positive, expansion of the church, society and the nation, Olawuyi, stressed the need for all to embrace peace at all times, especially the militants in the Niger Delta area and other well meaning Nigerians through dialogue, especially at this crucial period of the nation's economy.

Quoting from several biblical injunctions, Olawuyi passionately pleaded that all repents from sins and engage in genuine pursuits of love and zeal to serve.

While congratulating the congregation on the efforts of their founding founders and their zeal for the creation of the Church's Diocese of Lagos West, the cleric advised them not to relax on their oars, "but rather strive the more, at all times, to forgive one another, contribute financially, materially and spiritually for the continued expansion and the growth of the Diocese."

He enjoined the new confirmees, admitted to the full stream of the church to be front burners for Christ in their callings by being role models and winning more souls for Christ at all times.
